We would like apologize for not posting this earlier. Most of you will recognize our main cashier Doris. She passed away in November of 2021. She was my mother’s best friend, my Godmother, and our longest serving employee. She honestly was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Her dry (very dry) sense of humor was often overshadowed by an eccentricity that many would find harsh. We truly loved this woman and miss her every day. RIP Doris.

This is a tough post. First, I would like to thank everyone that has been a part of our 61 year history—- Every employee and customer. It has really been an honor for me personally to work this closely with my parents, children, and countless family members.
We will NOT be selling trees for a 62nd year. We would have loved to have had a final year of sales to say good bye, but it just didn’t work out that way.
There is so much that will be left unsaid, but know that we are very grateful for all the past support.
I personally know that this is the right decision for us at the right time.

Again—-
Thank you for letting us provide you with the best Christmas trees we could produce.

The Cordell Family.

This is what “Sadness” looks like. Initial cut your own planting from 2018 going to be replanted—— for the third time. First, the floods got it, then the moles got them, and last year the drought got them. What will it be this year?

Day 2 planting a success. PA trees are all in. Rain is moving in and we should be set for now.
This week we will plant closer to home in Ohio. We lost the last two years of planting here. Too dry and hot last year.

Day 1 of planting. Maybe one more year after this.
We have trees for maybe the next 12-15 years here. That’s more than enough for me.

March 5
It seems like it has been a long winter. Waiting for things to dry out at the farm. Naturally, rain is on the way and I am sure there will be more snow at some point. Trees were ordered and paid for last year so we should be all set to go in about a month. There still seems to be a tree shortage as many nurseries are not either in business any more or are choosing not to produce. Also, labor is increasingly an issue. As I/we as a business get older, I/we depend on others to fulfill our labor needs. Not everyone enjoys the “fun” of working on a tree farm.
