Calling all South Carolina artists! 🎨

One Columbia and the Congaree Vista Guild are seeking qualifications from professional artists to design a permanent public sculpture for the Senate Street median in The Vista.

Watercolor Mondays with Barbie Mathis

August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 (5 weeks)

$175 Sign up today! Starts Monday.

Join a great group of people, beginners to advanced as we use a simple process for painting from photo references to:

1. Draw, trace and transfer an Image

2. Learn to mix colors, figure out values and other elements of design to make a great composition.

3. Learn basic watercolor techniques to make stunning backgrounds

4. Do mini practices to warm up and take away fear of painting

Barbie will go over supplies, suggest topics and do a demo each week including:

1. Landscapes with grasses, trees, water and clouds

2. Birds and Animals

3. Flowers

You may work from references provided or you may bring your own photos. Each person will be given attention to meet individual goals. You may bring drinks and a snack lunch.
