Join is this Saturday at Columbia Curiosities, it’s where all the spooky weirdos will be 🖤
The History and Magic of the Witch 🧙♀️🌙
For centuries, the word witch has carried mystery, fear, fascination, and folklore. But behind the pointed hats and bubbling cauldrons is a much richer story.
Throughout history, practices that we now associate with witchcraft have often been connected to folk traditions, herbal knowledge, divination, seasonal customs, storytelling, and a deep connection to the natural world. Different cultures had their own healers, wise people, charm-makers, fortune tellers, and keepers of traditions passed from one generation to the next.
Unfortunately, fear and superstition also led to the persecution of many people accused of witchcraft—often with little or no evidence. Today, the witch has been reclaimed by many as a symbol of independence, intuition, knowledge, creativity, and embracing what makes us a little different.
And really… what better reason to gather a coven? 🖤
