It's important for Marine Corps family members to understand that fact, and it's important to shop where your money goes to a good cause...truly goes to a good cause. It's not just a percentage of the sales, it's 100% of the proceeds that go to support the outreach programs of MarineParents.com. The organization owns the EGA Shop, employs the staff at the EGA Shop, and owns the equipment and raw materials for the production elements. It's a win/win for everyone. EGA stands for Eagle, Globe, and Anchor which is a licensed trademark of the United States Marine Corps. The organization is an official Marine Corps Trademark Licensee and as such are allowed to produce and sell items that include Marine Corps slogans, trademark statements, and the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. MarineParents.com is under contract with the USMC to pay royalties for all product that includes an EGA. The royalties paid help to fund programs run by Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) which has operations on every Marine Corps Base around the world, including both Depots at San Diego and Parris Island.

The Marine Corps Flag
Learn the history of the Marine Corps Flag.
https://marineparents.com/announcements/AnnouncementDetails.asp?ID=323

The Marine Corps flag is scarlet and shows the Marine Corps emblem, which contains a fouled anchor, a globe displaying the western hemisphere, and a spread American Bald Eagle atop the globe. A ribbon held in the eagle's beak carries the Marine motto, "Semper Fidelis," (Latin for "always faithful"). Below the emblem, a larger ribbon holds the title, "United States Marine Corps."

The history of the Marine Corps flag is long and diverse. There is little information available about the flags carried by early Marines, although there is evidence that the "Grand Union" flag was carried ashore by a battalion led by Captain Samuel Nicholas on New Providence Island, Bahamas, in March of 1776. The "Rattlesnake" flag may have also been carried on that expedition.
