🇺🇸 Hardwoods such as cherry, oak, mahogany, maple, walnut, and poplar have diverse characteristics, ranging from differences in color and grain patterns to levels of hardness and durability. Cherry and mahogany are known for their reddish tones that become richer over time as well as their ease of workability, oak excels in strength and resistance to moisture and decay, maple is very hard and wear-resistant making it suitable for heavy use, walnut offers an elegant dark brown color with high stability, while poplar, although classified as a hardwood, is relatively soft, lightweight, and economical, and is therefore commonly used for secondary components or projects that will be painted.
