Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending The Covering’s 3rd annual banquet. My heart was filled with joy. Through my work at a home for women recovering from s*x trafficking, I’ve learned that women coming out of recovery or trafficking face similar struggles. Many of these women don’t even realize they are in a trafficking situation. That’s why it’s crucial to have open conversations about these difficult topics. The Covering is a Christian residential and transitional program in Ohio that provides hope to the hopeless. Their guiding verse is “God sets the lonely in families; he brings out those who are bound with chains.” (PsaIm 68:6) I have a close friend who has been through their program, and her transformation speaks volumes about the impact of God and The Covering.
