This week on Sit Down & Listen Up! 🛋️

📚 Wednesday, June 24th at 6:00pm - Join us to discuss Lena Dunham's "Famesick" for our non-fiction book club!

🖌️ Thursday, June 25th at 6:00pm - We still have a few tickets left for our DIY Sprayed Edges class! Bring a book from home (or buy one at the store!) that you want to turn into your newest sprayed edge masterpiece!

🌇 Friday, June 26th from 7:00-10:00pm - We will have a booth at the Little Golden Hour Market hosted by at Little Grand in Grandview. Come hang out with us and check our selection of blind wrapped books and all the local vendors, music and bevs!

🍻 Saturday, June 27th from 5:00-9:00pm - The first Grandview Hop of the season! Join us on Grandview Avenue for the best street festival on town. We will be open late and have giveaways at the bookstore (stay tuned!) so stop by and party with us!

It's that time! 📚 Which book club(s) will you join us for in July?

😜 Weird Girl Book Club: On July 6th at 6pm, we'll discuss Patricia Wants to Cuddle by Samantha Allen, a satirical q***r horror novel that spoofs reality dating shows like The Bachelor, blending dark humor, social commentary, and slasher-film tropes.

📚Fiction Fiction Fiction Book Club: On July 8th at 6pm, we'll talk about I See You've Called in Dead by John Kenney. Author and Thurber Prize winner, John Kenney will join us at 6:30pm for a virtual Q&A! A darkly comedic novel about Bud Stanley, a recently divorced obituary writer who, after a bad date, drunkenly writes and publishes his own obituary, getting stuck in a bureaucratic limbo where his company can't fire him because he's "dead."

🃏Dealer's Choice Book Club: In partnership with Reese's Book Club, Columbus Chapter, on July 21st at 6pm we'll be chatting about Into the Blue by Emma Brodie. A decades-spanning love story about AJ Graves, a video store worker who dreams of writing for SNL, and Noah Drew, the heir to an acting dynasty, who meet and form a deep bond before he mysteriously disappears.

🤓The Real Ones Book Club: Join us on July 22nd at 6pm to talk about Girl on Girl by Sophie Gilbert. It's a book that analyzes how 1990s and early 2000s pop culture, including music, film, and the internet, promoted misogyny and turned women against each other through hyper-sexualization, objectification, and the normalization of sexism.
