Proud to finally share the very first original prototype of the Liberty 250!
Please read full description for all info and pricing.
This project started with the idea of creating a trumpet that celebrates America’s 250th anniversary while blending classic American trumpet concepts with modern upgrades, custom engraving, and player-focused features while still trying to keep the instrument affordable and accessible.
Originally, I had hoped to build the Liberty entirely here in the USA and spent a lot of time exploring partnerships with American builders and suppliers. Unfortunately, finding a way to do that while still keeping the instrument at a realistic and affordable price point proved extremely difficult. Rather than shelving the idea completely, I decided to move forward with a prototype so the project could finally become a reality.
That being said, I am still very open to eventually producing a true all-American made version of the Liberty built with American-made components and artisan craftsmanship if the right partnerships and manufacturing opportunities become available in the future.
No matter where you lean politically, I hope the Liberty 250 can be something that brings people together through music, history, and appreciation for this country.
We all know there’s a lot going on in the world right now, and there are plenty of things people on both sides of the aisle are frustrated about. I see it too. I’m honestly somewhere in the middle myself and can understand viewpoints from both sides.
But at the end of the day, despite our disagreements, this is still an incredible country filled with opportunity, freedom, history, and people from all walks of life trying to build something better for themselves and their families.
The Liberty 250 was never meant to be about politics. It’s about celebrating America’s history, honoring veterans and military musicians, remembering those who served, supporting ceremonial music traditions like Taps, and creating something meaningful that people can be proud to own, display, and perform on.
The Liberty 250 was designed for veterans, former and current military bandsmen, patriotic Americans, collectors, ceremonial musicians, Boy Scout buglers, buglers who perform military functions and funerals, players performing Taps at memorial services, concert band musicians, soloists, students, educators, and anyone wanting an instrument that not only performs well, but also makes a statement visually.
The horn featured in this video is the very first original Liberty 250 prototype in the Satin Silver finish. The audio is me performing The Star-Spangled Banner on the prototype using a Denis Wick Ultra Heavyweight 1.5C mouthpiece.
Please keep in mind this is still the original prototype, and there will continue to be refinements and modifications as development moves forward, including adjustments to engraving detail, sizing, placement, leadpipe configuration, and other custom features before final production.
Each Liberty 250 will feature extensive patriotic engraving throughout the instrument to commemorate America’s Semiquincentennial, including the Liberty 250 commemorative logo, flowing American flag artwork, eagle engraving, “We the People” script with 13 stars representing the original colonies, and “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” engraved along the leadpipe.
The current Liberty 250 production model will come standard with:
• Medium-large .460 bore
• 43-style gold brass bell for a broader, more open sound
• Gold brass leadpipe for a warmer sound and improved corrosion resistance
• Rounded and standard D tuning slides included
• Saturn-style water keys
• Finger rings instead of traditional U-hooks
• Custom red, white, and blue stone inlay finger buttons installed
• Matching plain metal finger buttons also included
• Deluxe custom case
• Heavyweight 3C mouthpiece included
• Serialized commemorative production numbering
The current planned finish tiers and pricing structure are:
• Brushed Satin Lacquer Edition – $1,850
• Heritage Copper Edition – $1,900
• Silver Plate Edition – $2,000
• Satin Silver Edition – $2,100
• Gold Edition – $2,700
• Founders Edition (Brushed Gold) – $2,800
As a veteran-owned company, Arch City Brass will also offer 10% service appreciation pricing for veterans, active military, students, teachers, educators, police, fire, EMS, and first responders.
I’m also planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the Liberty 250 project in the near future.
For the first 10 people seriously interested in reserving one before the Kickstarter launch, I will also be offering an additional $100 off with a $500 reservation deposit applied toward the final balance. The first 10 reservation holders may also combine this with the 10% service appreciation pricing and will receive one of the first 10 serialized Liberty 250 commemorative horns produced.
If you are seriously interested in reserving one of the first Liberty 250 horns, please send me a DM here on Facebook or email [email protected] for reservation details.
This is still the very beginning of the project, but I’m incredibly excited to finally start sharing the vision behind it.
At a time when everybody seems divided, maybe music can still be one thing that brings people together.
God Bless America. 🇺🇸
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
