NEW DETAILS: Seminole County—
A judge ruled a murder case from 2023 will go to trial, after a plea deal for the suspect was taken off the table Monday.

Jacob Washington was found dead with gunshot wounds in an area off Old Hwy 270, only about a mile away from his family’s home in Seminole.
He was found shot in his own pickup truck.

Last week, the suspect—John Nolte II—was scheduled for a plea hearing, but a judge intervened after Washington’s family said they weren’t adequately consulted about the plea offer from the State to Nolte.
He will now go to trial and could potentially face life in prison, or the death penalty.

Court documents note Washington worked for Nolte, and a barn where Washington was working on the Nolte property had burned down.
Nolte was found by Texas Rangers in 2023 and brought back to Oklahoma.
