An authentic circa 1947 David White & Co. brass transit level, made in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and paired with its original hardwood surveyor's tripod. This historic surveying instrument has been meticulously cleaned, with the brass carefully polished and protected using museum-grade Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax to preserve its beautiful finish.
The custom Edison lighting has been thoughtfully engineered to showcase the original instrument without permanently altering it in any way. No drilling, tapping, or modifications have been made to the transit or tripod, preserving the integrity of this remarkable piece of American industrial history. Also included but not pictured is it's original mahogany carrying case, as well as an extendable 7' to 14' leveling rod with its red and white target intact which completes the set. Perfect for the collector of vintage surveying equipment or someone looking for a statement piece for their home or office.
