The Tinsmith's Wife is a family-owned shop focused on sharing the best materials and instruction to fuel your passion to create. We have materials for knitting, crochet, needlepoint, cross stitch, and now punch needle! For knitting and crochet, we specialize in carrying a wide variety of independent dyers (e.g., Yarn Carnival, Bronotta Yarns, Black Trillium, Meadowcroft Dyeworks) as well as some o

f the larger names in yarn (e.g., Berroco, Rowan, Manos). For cross stitch we have a great variety of primitive and classic stitching patterns, along with gorgeous linens (R&R, Weeks, Lakeside), and fibers from Weeks, Crescent Colors, Valdani, and others. We have recently expanded our cross stitch room to allow a great exploration of our goodies. Needlepoint continues to grow with a great variety of canvases and the fibers to make them shine! In all - we are delighted at how our shop as come together, and we are nestled within the wonderful historic town of Comfort! What a super fun bag to make for Summer - great for the beach or the farmers’ market. Crocheted in H**p Yarn (h**p and cotton) it is the perfect yarn for a bag!

So many great new things in the shop today!

1. Lauren Bloch did a super job converting our needlepoint shop front to cross stitch! It is a glorious little chart - and I am so humbled with the response! Yep - up in our online shop now.

2. New needlepoint fibers to the shop - Soie Tissee in all 138 colors! Beautiful and the silk just stitches so smoothly.

3. Color of the month from Ancient Arts celebrates the children’s book - Hello Rock - and is simply yummy when paired with Flamboyent (a perfect pink). Yep - also up in our online shop now.

Have had a ball crocheting recently - and this shawl - Sunday Shawl by Alia Bland is just easy and fun and creates a perfect piece for this summer!

I crocheted mine in H**pathy which as a great crunchy linen feel and GREAT colors! Yep - Mom and I had a blast putting a few color packs together, and they are up in our online shop now.

If you are a beginner or experienced crocheter - this is a great pattern!
