Wow beautiful
Oh, what I would do for a Chambers stove!!! š
Itās crazy because sometimes I feel like Iām going backward in time, but somehow moving forward in my life.
I feel like here in America, weāve spent so long finding ways to make everything quicker. Easier. More convenient. And listen⦠I was the woman who NEEDED easier. I worked the long hours, lived the hustle, and tried to squeeze a whole life into whatever little bit of me was left at the end of the day.
So I understand grabbing whatever saves you a few minutes. Sometimes youāre just trying to get supper on the table and make it to bedtime.
But now that Iāve slowed down, Iām realizing how much I enjoy the very things I used to need to hurry through.
I want to chop the vegetables. Make something from scratch. Tend to the plants. Piddle around my home. Cook a meal that takes all afternoon while the house smells good and thereās nowhere I need to rush off to.
I want the extra steps. I want to take the extra time.
Because Iām finding that the more time and care I put into something, the more satisfaction I get out of it. Sitting down to a meal I spent time making, watching something grow that Iāve tended to, looking around at a home Iāve poured myself into⦠that feels GOOD.
And Iāve had to ask myself⦠what am I saving all this time FOR? To scroll? To watch TV? To sit there watching somebody else enjoy the very things I keep saying I donāt have time to do?
That one stepped on my own toes a little. š¤
Thereās nothing wrong with resting or enjoying a show. But Iāve realized how easily I can rush through something that would actually fill my cup, then lose an hour on my phone without even noticing.
Thereās something about working with my hands and putting love into the everyday things that sets my soul on fire. Iāll catch myself doing something so simple and think⦠Lord, I love this little life. š„¹
I used to wonder how much more I could fit into a day. Lately, Iām learning how good it feels to actually be present for the day Iāve been given.
And yes, I know an old stove is still just a stove. But when I look at one, I picture myself in the kitchen, taking my time, making something good for the people I love. And that sounds like a pretty beautiful way to spend my time.
Would you want one of these?! Have you ever seen a Chambers stove or cooked on one? Tell me about it! š«¶š¼
