This weekend was truly one we’ll never forget.
It was so nice to get away from Michigan for a few days and head to beautiful Park City, Utah, for an unforgettable experience with High West Distillery. We went out there to select a barrel, but what we came home with is something incredibly special.
We had the opportunity to select a barrel that has only been done TWICE in High West history — a bourbon finished in Cacao Nib Barrels from Ritual Chocolate, bottled at 101 proof. And yes… we’re bringing it home to Michigan. The rich chocolate notes are absolutely incredible, and with the holiday season right around the corner, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was next level. We were welcomed at the beautiful Waldorf Astoria, then spent the evening celebrating the release of the new: A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 14 — another incredible release that we can’t wait to see hit Michigan this month.
The food, the bourbon, the scenery, the hospitality, and most importantly, the memories my wife and I made together are something we’ll cherish forever.
A huge thank you to the entire High West family and everyone involved for making us feel so welcomed and giving us an experience we’ll talk about for years.
Sometimes a barrel pick is more than just picking wh***ey. It’s the places it takes you, the people you meet, and the memories you bring home.
