Things are getting spooky over here!

This fun wall quilt was a free pattern by Fat Quarter Shop and pieced with some of our in stock Halloween fabric.

It turned out great and was a blast to put together.

Here is some valuable info for those coming to take the Jelly Roll Jacket class this Saturday.

I’ve gotten most of you, but I don’t have emails for everyone.

We have plenty of mats and irons so you should be good there 🙂

Hello everyone!
I’m looking forward to our Jelly Roll Jacket Class this Saturday. I want to make certain you are well prepared and have everything you need to make your garment the best it can be.

These instructions apply to sizes medium through extra-large. Make certain you have plenty of fabric. The shop will come in handy if you purchase your items there!
Please follow the instructions and gather your items:

A Jelly Roll of your choice (42- 2.5 inch with of fabric (WOF) strips) You can purchase or cut your own. Coordinate with your sweatshirt color.

A prewashed crew neck sweatshirt that is one size larger than you normally wear. It does not have to be new. Men’s sizes are longer and larger than unisex garments. Since you are making a jacket, you need the extra size. Set-in sleeves are preferred with side seams.-- Please do not bring a hoodie, or other garments with zippers or buttons for this project.
Even if it looks like a sweatshirt, if the fabric is thin, flimsy or too stretchy, it will not work. Sweatshirts have a fleece lining. Some sweatshirts have raglan sleeves or have no side seams; they are harder to work with, but not impossible.

Thread to match sweatshirt.

Extra coordinated fabric (If you think you will want to lengthen your jacket or sleeves)

This is optional. -- Fabric that is cut on the bias for finishing, 2.5 inches wide, about 5 yards. Bias tape is too expensive and unnecessary. I use the Jelly Roll strips for this.

Large sharp scissors
Pins and cushion
Light and dark fabric markers (We can share.)

Long ruler, large cutting mat, rotary cutter (We can share if needed.)

Sewing machine and usual tools

Don’t forget extension cords and surge protector.

Iron and ironing mat

Batting scraps ( We will provide for those who do not have.)

Class begins at 10:00 AM. Bring your lunch, snacks and beverages.

This is one of my favorite projects to share. See you there!

Here is today’s stitch!

How’s everyone doing? Post pics of your progress below 🙂

I’m planning to continue the chaos until close to the end of the month. Once we’re done we’ll talk about border options.

I’ve been wanted to try an envelop border which would allow me to leave the ends and not weave them in. Has anyone tried one of these?
