Good morning folks!
I have an update on shop hours. We are taking a lot of collections and need time to work them through to the shelves.
We are now open Thursday through Saturday 10-5
Friday still open till 7
Tuesday and Wednesday are by appointment only.

What an amazing summer we had with the 2 interns. Today the completed the intern program and earned 2 college credits. They had a good time and learned some cool stuff along the way. Best of luck and keep up the good work Elijah and Leonardo.

This is a side project I am working. I was trying to get old an old whitewash finish. I am over the moon how the wood sidewalk turned out.

I know that I spend a lot of time staring at my locos and rolling stock. I done spend enough time looking at what’s on my layout. I do buy new kits to assemble them. Lately I have leaning towards old cast offs from others layout that where destin for the trash bin. This is an old Kirby kit. I did kill a few windows taking it apart. Also I learned the Uncure is not is good for plastic if it was left on the plastic to long. Stay tuned as I start the painting process.

I was finally able to read the March issues of Model Railroad Craftsman. They had an article in the Perspective section about graffiti. It’s always been a rich conversation at any open house about the topic of graffiti on your rolling stock. This day and age you can’t throw a wrench without hitting something that didn’t have some kinda graffiti on them. I personal run pre Amtrak passenger service so no graffiti for me. I ASLO do 20’s era billboard cars and again no graffiti there. I do have a few modern pieces of rolling stock and I have them graffitied. What you views on graffiti?

When Just Trains got our award from the city Min’s Kitchen was also given the award for service to the community. They have been here for 17 years. They have good food and a wonderful atmosphere. All the art in the shop is done by Ky the son. He and I had an amazing conversation.

Just Trains got an award last night from the City of Concord and Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce for contributing to the economic viability and betterment to the community. 40 years the store has strived to be a place that Concord can be proud of. We have survived flooding, theft and economic downturns. I can’t thank the employees who have been here throughout the years, Jim and Rosita for keeping the dream alive, and Joan who started this company.
Many thanks and here’s to 40 more years.
