That’s one of the best parts of collecting: there is always more to learn. Every specimen brings a new question, a new discovery, and a chance to dive deeper into the amazing world of geology.

Mystery stones from Carson’s Beach, part 2! 🌊✨

The more you look at these pieces, the more details appear. From the colors and patterns to the textures and natural shapes, every feature gives clues about where they came from and how they formed.

Are they quartz-rich? A type of jasper? Chert? Something completely different? The fun of collecting is in the discovery process!

Identifying rocks can take time and often requires looking closely at their hardness, texture, mineral composition, and how they react to different tests.
