How many solar attic fans does an attic ACTUALLY need?

The answer isn’t always one.

Proper attic ventilation comes down to more than simply installing a fan. You need to consider the square footage, attic height, cubic volume, airflow, and available soffit intake to determine how many fans are needed to get the results your customer is expecting.

That’s exactly why we created The Attic Depot Fan Chart.

Our chart makes it easy for contractors to determine the proper number of solar attic fans based on the size and height of the attic, with the goal of achieving approximately 8 to 10 air exchanges per hour.

Because putting one fan on a large attic may move air, but that doesn’t mean you’re properly ventilating the space.

And don’t forget the other half of the equation: INTAKE.

You need enough net free intake at the soffits for your solar attic fans to perform properly.
