Happy National Hummingbird Day! 🌺
We realize our introduction is quite a few years old, and when we shifted our profile from purchasing pallets and reselling those discounted, new goods in a flea market setting to 3D printing, we never really explained the why.
So, here we go!
While we started as a husband and wife duo, the 3D venture is solely the wife. My dad got me interested in 3D printing, and it seemed like the perfect hobby for me because I’m a natural gift giver. So, I thought, why not try my hand at it and make my own gifts and random things for people? And I got... hooked. 🎣😆
After a lot of printing and tinkering, I started wondering if other people might want some of the things I was making, too. With the help of HDE, that hobby turned into a side hustle. I was able to get my prints in front of people and gain more experience under my belt. And now, I also take custom orders. ☺️
Bucket of Potatoes makes a little bit of everything, from practical fixes and geocaching swag to candy machines, decor, organizers, keychains, trophies, and plenty of random, unnecessary prints simply because they’re fun. 😉
Now, as to the random name, you ask? Well, we’ve been known to bucket garden. And while that’s a topic for a different day (and one we highly recommend!), our favorite things to grow in our bucket garden are potatoes.
During the growing process, you never know what your bounty is because it’s hidden under the soil. The thrill and excitement comes at harvest time, when you dump out the contents of the bucket and discover all those awesome little potatoes.
When we were buying pallets, you never knew what you were going to get, and the fun felt very similar to when we harvested the potatoes. We decided to keep the name when we shifted to 3D printing because we still feel like the concept is the same. "What are we going to print today?" "Ahhh... it’s made!!" 😆
