CONFIRMED: Hobby Lobby Coming to Pony Village Mall in North Bend

Hobby Lobby is set to move into the former Macy’s location at Pony Village Mall in North Bend. This information has been confirmed by an elected official who asked to remain anonymous.

While I’ve been clear in the past that I don’t personally align with the company’s policies or political positions, the larger takeaway here is economic: national retailers continue to see value and opportunity in our local market. Filling a long-vacant anchor space is a significant step for the mall and signals renewed commercial interest in North Bend and the surrounding area.

According to the information shared, the store is expected to open sometime next year. As with all major retail developments, this will likely bring new jobs, increased foot traffic, and additional momentum for neighboring businesses.

COMMISSIONER ROD TAYLOR’S MOTION TO WITHDRAW CH&W PARTNERSHIP WITH LGBTQ “PRIDE PROM” DEFEATED 2–1

COQUILLE, OR — Commissioners Sweet and Farmer voted NO on the motion to withdraw Coos Health & Wellness from partnering with the Pride Prom event. Commissioner Rod Taylor was the sole vote in favor of the motion.

As a result, Coos Health & Wellness will continue as a partner for Pride Prom, scheduled for February 14 at Pony Village Mall in North Bend.

The meeting grew intense at times, with roughly 100 people filling the chamber and 88 more watching online. One member of the audience was escorted out due to disruptive behavior. Also, the moment the motion failed, several audience members stood up and exited the room.

What matters most is this: facts won, fear did not, and community support prevailed!!
