Captain America was at fault for the Snap, says The Marvels director

"There is a world in which he's a villain."

The Marvels director Nia DaCosta blames Captain America for the Snap which wiped out half of all living things in Avengers: Infinity War.

After completing his Infinity Gauntlet, the Mad Titan himself Thanos initiated this devastating blow as superheroes like Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch and Star-Lord faded into oblivion.

But according to the filmmaker, Steve Rogers could've stopped this from happening if he wasn't so driven in saving fellow Avenger, Vision.

"Something I like to say a bit flippantly about Captain America is that the Snap is all his fault because he was trying to do his best, trying to do the right thing," DaCosta recently told Inverse.

"There is a world in which he's a villain because, at the end of the day, he should have just sacrificed Vision. He chose one robot's life, albeit a sentient one, over literally the entire universe. There's a sort of anti-hero in that if you want to look at it through that lens.

"People would say I'm crazy for thinking that way, but there's something connected to the journey of the anti-hero and the hero," she elaborated.

"The hero's pain is something that spurs them to martyr themselves, and an anti-hero's pain is a thing that kind of starts their journey as opposed to ending it."

A harsh truth? Maybe so. But at the end of the day, Cap and the other super-survivors mounted an audacious comeback via the Quantum Realm and time travel in 2019 sequel Avengers: Endgame.

Captain Marvel is streaming on Disney+ and available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. Its sequel, The Marvels, has a release date of November 11, 2022.

Supergirl series finale teases wedding as title and details are revealed

We'll also see the return of several familiar characters.

The synopses for the upcoming 2-part finale of the Supergirl series have been revealed.

The first hour of the double-episode special is titled 'The Last Gauntlet,' in which Supergirl and the Super Friends "take drastic action after a loved one is kidnapped by Nyxly and Lex," according to the official synopsis.

The actual series finale, titled 'Kara', will wrap up the titular hero's story in an epic showdown. Both episodes will air in the US on November 9.

"Supergirl is joined by familiar faces from the past to help her stop Lex and Nyxly for good," the synopsis for 'Kara' teases, adding: "Alex and Kelly prepare to walk down the aisle".

What's more, the series finale synopsis also confirms that Mehcad Brooks (who plays James Olsen), Jeremy Jordan (Winn Schott) and Chris Wood (Mon-El) will all return, too.

Supergirl season 6 has seen Kara and her friends tested as they face the fifth dimensional imp Nxylgsptinz, or Nyxly for short. Recent episodes have seen Supergirl race against time to reach magical alien totems before her enemy Nyxly acquires them for evil.

In a previous interview with TV Line, Chyler Leigh, who plays Alex, told fans to be prepared for the final episode, which promises to be an emotional event.

"There's a lot to wrap up in the few episodes left, so just get ready," she said. "Have tissues, have popcorn, have tequila – whatever works for you. Just be ready."

Speaking to ComicBook.com earlier this year, co-showrunner Jessica Queller said, "There's so many special things about the season.

"We have a bunch of social justice-focused episodes that really come out of largely the Black Lives Matter movements and the events of last summer and have those similar themes that I think mean so much to us, all of us in the writers' room, to be able to talk about inclusion and equality and things, values that matter to us.

Queller continued: "And also, just there's a very satisfying arc for Kara Danvers/Supergirl having to do with her at the beginning of the Season 1 pilot episode. You know, like a sort of insecure, bumbling, wide-eyed young girl to becoming a very mature, integrated, authentic hero of the people."

Hayden Christensen making Star Wars return for Disney+'s Ahsoka series

Hayden Christensen is to join the cast of Disney+'s latest live-action Star Wars series, Ahsoka.

The actor will reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader, in the show, which will see Rosario Dawson star as Jedi Knight survivor Ahsoka Tano. As previously reported, Christensen will also appear in Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor.

It's not yet clear how Christensen will feature in Ahsoka, which – like The Mandalorian – is set five years after Return of the Jedi (and after Vader's death), but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it could be either through flashbacks or even as a Force Ghost.

Plot details are naturally being kept under wraps, but we do know that Star Wars Rebels co-creator Dave Filoni is writing Ahsoka, while also executive producing alongside The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau. Production is due to begin in early 2022.

Christensen gained international fame for his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the Star Wars prequel trilogy films, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005).

In 2019, the actor returned to the role of Skywalker, providing a voice cameo of the character's voice in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Christensen also received a voice credit as Anakin alongside Matt Lanter for the penultimate episode of the final season of the animated TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, 'Shattered' – despite the fact the dialogue used for the episode spoken by Christensen was reused archival audio from Revenge of the Sith.

In December 2020 during Disney's Investor Day, it was announced that Christensen would reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader for the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series.

You stars Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti reveal intimate scenes were initially a challenge

"It took months to figure out how to do it safely."

Netflix drama You recently released its third season, with Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti playing Joe and Love Quinn-Goldberg after getting married, moving to the suburbs, and becoming new parents to their son Henry.

Though the actors have played a couple all throughout season two, this new filming experience provided a host of challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Pedretti explains that filming intimate scenes with each other was difficult initially in terms of their safety. She said: "This is not a show where you can be like, 'Nobody's going to kiss. It'll be fine.' So it took months to figure out how to do it safely."

"I felt very lucky that they start off their relationship at odds with each other, navigating the awkwardness of being new parents, because it felt strange to be physically intimate very early on, even though we're supposed to be a married couple," she continues.

Luckily, Pedretti began to feel more comfortable as time went on: "It's weird. We have a rapport. We played a couple before, but it didn't just immediately come back after being in a global pandemic."

Badgley felt the same. "It's really true, the implications of all that stuff was really felt," he added.

Showrunner Sera Gamble told Entertainment Weekly that they "were really lucky" to be able to do the show the way they wanted, with Badgley adding: "There were significant rewrites throughout the whole season to try and negotiate around these scenes that would require a lot of people."

The show will be returning for season four, with fans desperate to know what will happen to Joe after the shocking twist ending. Gamble told Collider: "The story from here, if we get to tell it, is about how he gets any of [that loss] back or how he finds something else."

She added that he has a "hole in his heart" and that we will have to wait and see what will fill it while exploring his "baggage".

Thor's Chris Hemsworth worried he was being "written out" of the MCU

"I thought, 'This is it.'"

Thor star Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he thought his absence from Captain America: Civil War meant that he was "being written out" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In Civil War, the Avengers were forced to pick sides between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), but Thor was not included in the film and never had to choose.

In a new book called The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hemsworth said: "I remember being on the Age of Ultron press tour, and everyone was talking about Civil War. I was like, 'What's Civil War? Are you doing a side-project or something?'

"They're like, 'Oh no, Captain America, y'know? The next one is Civil War.' I'm like, 'Wait... Iron Man's in that?' And it's like, 'Yeah, but there's not just Iron Man. There's Vision. There's Spider-Man...'"

Hemsworth explained that he asked the studios what he would be doing instead, and they said: "You're doing your own thing."

"I thought, 'This is it. I'm being written out,'" he added.

Of course, we now know that Hemsworth's Thor was not being written out of the MCU and would, in fact, become an important weapon in the fight against Thanos.

He and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk (who was also absent from Civil War) reunited in the feature film Thor: Ragnarok, before joining their fellow Avengers in Infinity War and Endgame.

Hemsworth will be reprising his role as the Norse god in Thor: Love and Thunder, which recently had its release date pushed back along with a number of other MCU films.

The movie will include a return for Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, who became Thor's girlfriend after the first movie but then didn't appear in Ragnarok, as it was confirmed that the couple broke up for unknown reasons.

Thor: Love and Thunder has a release date of July 28, 2022.

Supernatural's Jensen Ackles pays sweet tribute to Rust's Halyna Hutchins

"This has been a tragedy of epic proportions that we are all still processing."

Supernatural star Jensen Ackles has honoured the late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins with a touching Instagram tribute.

Hutchins tragically died last week while working in New Mexico on the upcoming western movie Rust, which Ackles stars in.

She was shot by a prop gun by lead actor Alec Baldwin, which also resulted in the injury of director Joel Souza. According to court records, Baldwin had been told the gun was safe.

Sharing four images of Hutchins on the set, Ackles wrote: "I'm not even sure where to start. This has been a tragedy of epic proportions that we are all still processing.

"Earlier last week I felt compelled to tell Halyna just how awesome I thought she was. I told her how incredible I thought her camera shots were and just how exciting it was to watch her and her team work. Truly. She laughed and said thank you and gave me a hug.

"I'll forever be thankful we had that moment."

The actor continued: "She had a s***k and passion that infected the entire crew from the top down. She was an inspiration. My heart and prayers go out to Halyna's husband, son and the rest of her family.

Ackles went on to share the links to the AFI scholarship fund in her name, as well as her GoFundMe memorial page, encouraging followers to donate if they are able.

Baldwin previously spoke of his "shock and sadness" at the tragic incident.

"There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours," he wrote on social media.

"I'm fully co-operating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna."

Filming on Rust has now been suspended indefinitely while the official investigation continues.

Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox lead tributes to James Michael Tyler following his death

"You will be so missed."

Following the tragic death of Friends star James Michael Tyler, his co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are among those who have paid tribute to him on social media.

Tyler was best known for playing Gunther, manager of the friends' favourite coffee shop Central Perk, who was deeply in love with Rachel (Aniston).

The actor was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in September 2018, and passed away yesterday morning (October 24).

Aniston, whose character Rachel had the closest relationship with Gunther as she used to work for him and he was infatuated with her, posted a clip from the Friends finale where he confesses his love.

Alongside the post, she wrote: "Friends would not have been the same without you. Thank you for the laughter you brought to the show and to all of our lives. You will be so missed."

Following his diagnosis, he became a strong advocate for men to get tested for prostate cancer. His manager said in a statement: "Wanting to help as many people as possible, he bravely shared his story and became a campaigner for those with a prostate to get a... blood test as early as 40 years old."

Tyler is survived by his wife, Jennifer Carno, and will forever be remembered on our TV screens as the lovable Gunther.

Just last year, Diesel revealed that the upcoming 10th instalment in the tyre-screeching franchise will fulfil a promise he made to his late co-star, who died in 2013.

"He was always tickled by the fact that we were continuing. He was always so excited and so proud that his brother was thinking of these films before the studio, before anyone knew that there was another one coming and another one coming and that the stories had been worked out for him. He took great pride in that."

Walker originally quizzed him on how many more sequels they could produce, as Diesel further recalled: "The question is, is it seven, eight, nine, or seven, eight, nine, 10? And I remember this giant smile on his face like, 'What?! That's impossible!'

"But later that night we were talking, and I promised him that we would get to that point. It may not mean anything to anyone else, but to me on a personal level, that's the promise that I made to my brother.
