Meet Jodie Hoskins, working to build DejaYou & Thrifted Gifts! DejaYou is a curated resale business built around the idea that quality and a beautiful shopping experience shouldn’t just be reserved for the wealthy.

We asked Jodie a couple of questions about why she applied for Launch 606 and what she's hoping to build!

Q: Why did you apply for Launch 606? What are you hoping to gain from the program?
A: I applied because I already know there’s something about DejaYou that works. I’ve had consistent sales, loyal customers and people who came back just to see what I had done next. What I don’t know yet is how far I can take it. I need to get better at social media, figure out how to grow enough to hire help, and learn how to do that without changing the things that made DejaYou work in the first place. Launch 606 is also making me think a lot more about what businesses like mine can mean for this region.

Q: What is your vision for the future of your business?
A: I’m ridiculously excited to reopen DejaYou at the new Blackberry Hills Vendor Barn in Corbin and see what happens. I think there’s a ton of potential there, especially being right on the I-75 corridor with local shoppers, people coming into Corbin from around the region and travelers passing through. I want to see how far I can grow DejaYou, eventually hire help and maybe create more jobs as it grows, but I don’t want growth to mean making DejaYou expensive or turning it into something it isn’t. I want to keep the affordable prices, the ridiculous displays and the whole strange little world people already love. And yes, part of that is personal. I want my grandson and the rest of my family to grow up knowing you don’t necessarily have to leave Appalachia to build something really good here.

Our Costume Shop has always been a popular part of DejaYou. 🧙‍♀️🎃

Our new booths at Blackberry Hills Vendors Barn of Corbin won’t be open by Halloween…

BUT we DO have a warehouse.

And costumes.
And props.
And our weird imagination for turning all of it into something fabulous. 😂

SO we’re thinking about opening the DejaYou warehouse for a limited number of private Costume Shop appointments before Downtown Corbin’s Witches’ Walk and Halloween.

We’ll help pull together the costume, accessories and props.

If there’s enough interest, we’ll open the appointment book.

🗽 A little DejaYou inspiration from NYC…

We were in NYC this weekend to support our friends at Tri-County Mystery Meets and see The Sweet Life: The Ruth Hunt Story at the Jerry Orbach Theater. ❤️🎭

And, because we’re DejaYou, of course we noticed the window displays at some of NYC’s major retailers. 😂

The props. The drama. The unexpected. The slightly ridiculous. The kind of displays that make you stop and look twice.

We came home with a camera roll full of inspiration and enough ideas sparked by what we saw to keep us creating a whole year of displays at Blackberry Hills Vendors Barn of Corbin 💙

DejaYou has never exactly been known for subtle displays.

NYC always sets the bar pretty high. But we already know DejaYou & Thrifted Gifts can do over-the-top pretty well right here in Kentucky. 😉💙

A little proof that DejaYou & Thrifted Gifts is still alive and well. 💙

Even a 1,500-square-foot concrete block warehouse full of entirely too much stuff needs one calm room to sit, think and plan what’s next. 🤣

We’re still here. Still sourcing, sorting, planning and working as we get ready for our new booths at Blackberry Hills Vendors Barn of Corbin !

Trust us… the rest of the warehouse is NOT this peaceful. Because that’s where DejaYou actually lives. 🤣

We’re excited to share a major milestone: DejaYou & Thrifted Gifts has been selected to join the 2026 Launch 606 Cohort!

Out of an incredible group of regional applicants, 73 entrepreneurs were chosen to participate in this 8-week business development bootcamp, organized by Invest 606 in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky.

This initiative is focused on empowering entrepreneurs across 54 Appalachian Kentucky counties with the tools, mentorship, and resources needed to drive economic growth in our region.

We’re grateful for this opportunity to refine DejaYou and contribute to the vibrant future of Eastern Kentucky.
