Hey everyone, Matt here. I wanted to hop on and share something a little more personal than what I normally post. This is something my family and I have been dealing with quietly all summer, and I feel like it’s finally time to let everyone know what’s been going on.
I’ve been diagnosed with cancer.
It’s definitely not something I ever thought I’d have to say, and it hasn’t been the easiest summer for us. There have been a lot of appointments, emotions, unknowns, and changes behind the scenes, all while we’ve been doing our best to keep life and the bins going like normal.
With possible treatments, appointments, and days when I simply might not be feeling up to it, there are going to be times when you won’t see me at the bins as much as you normally do.
But I want to make one thing really clear — we aren’t going anywhere. We’ll still be here. The bins aren’t going anywhere, and neither is our family. We’ve put way too much heart, work, and love into this place to let a bump in the road change that. We just ask that you continue to support us through all of this, because the truth is, we’re going to need it. Every visit, every share, every kind word, and everyone who continues to walk through our doors means more to our family than you know.
My wife, my dad, and my kids are all stepping up to help keep everything rolling, and I can’t put into words how thankful I am for them. I’ll still be around and working whenever I’m able. Some days might just look a little different for a while.
Our plan is to keep the bins open and running as normally as possible. If there ever comes a time when we need to close for a few days because of treatments, appointments, or because we just need some time together as a family, we’ll always let everyone know ahead of time as best we can.
We don’t know exactly what the road ahead looks like, but we’re going to take it one day at a time, keep fighting, keep showing up, and keep doing what we do.
So if you don’t see my face around quite as much some days, don’t worry. We’re still here, and we plan on being here for a long time.
Thank you to everyone who supports our bins and, more importantly, our family. Your kindness, prayers, encouragement, and continued support mean more to us right now than you probably realize. ❤️
