Here are our top tips for keeping them cool and hydrated. The hotter it is, the more water your animals need. If temperatures top out over 90 degrees, beef cattle may need more than 20 gallons of water a day, while dairy cows can drink up to 50. Horses may need more than 1 gallon per 100 pounds — and that’s when they’re at rest.
