Crossroads Shopping Village is named for its strategic location at the intersection of the 5800 block of McArdle and Airline Rd. The village feel is the first of its kind in Corpus Christi, with its leisurely tone and nostalgic atmosphere. Crossroads has proven to be one of the most interesting and enjoyable places to shop—a place for those who like the unique. In October 1976, there were nine hou

ses and business structures at the Crossroads location, each dating back to the early Forties. They were remodeled with bay windows, enclosed staircases, colorful awnings, cedar trim, and new paint to give the center an old fashioned look of beauty, with grassy areas, shade trees and cobblestone walkways. In December 1976, the old Pax Christi house was purchased and moved from Lipan Street in Corpus Christi to Crossroads. Remodeling was completed in April 1977. Thai Cottage Restaurant now occupies this site. In April 1977, an old historical house located on B***y Street in Corpus Christi was moved to Crossroads. In order to move the house across town, the peak of the roof on the house had to be removed and then replaced. Catfish Charlie’s, our longest running tenant - they are still with us today - opened for business in January 1979. They specialize in catfish, frog legs, and a variety of Cajun dishes.

Benjamin’s has long been an iconic local brand, built by Ben’s incredible retail vision, keen eye for fashion, and unmatched work ethic. We are honored that Ben chose Crossroads Village as the home for Benjamin’s, bringing his business beyond the malls and onto the street, where his legacy continues today.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda, the entire Liska family, and everyone whose lives Ben touched.

Thank you, Ben, for the lasting impact you’ve made on our community. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. ❤️
