Four generations. One family. One love for daylilies. 🌺

What started in the 1960s as a few daylilies in Bill Oakes’ backyard grew into a family business that has now spanned generations. From digging daylilies out of Papaw’s garden to selling plants from the back of a pickup truck… from black-and-white mail orders to thousands of daylilies growing across 50+ acres — so much has changed.

But one thing hasn’t: our love for daylilies and the people who grow them. ❤️ Today, Ken and Joshua continue the Oakes family tradition, carrying on something that started with a simple backyard hobby that got a little out of control.

And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way. 🌱Here’s to the generations who grew it — and the generations still growing it.

We are saddened to hear that our local hero and East Tennessee neighbor, Dolly Parton, passed away today. Dolly did so much for her local community as well as her state and country. She will be missed by many but her legacy will live on forever.

We will always love you, Dolly. 🦋
