Annie's Bait and Tackle is scheduled for demolition on Wednesday, April 16. The 70-year-old Cortez waterfront landmark is sited on the future Cortez Marina property. Manatee County purchased the parcel, which includes the Seafood Shack, for $13 million. Commissioners voted 6-1 on March 4 for the demolition of the hurricane-impacted Annie's. Manatee county spokesperson Bill Logan told The Sun on April 9 that contractors will mobilize at the site on April 15, with site clearing and the demolition of Annie's the following day.
