Hi all!
I have received a number of questions asking if I'm still doing the wood art - Yes! is my immediate response, but realistically it's been an uphill climb since returning to work for someone else. I also just had another back fusion, Feb 21st, and am healing well, but it's all been a setback for Deer Mountain Creations!
However, Spring is literally around the corner and as most of you who know me can imagine, I am feeling the draw of nature and hope to be making saw dust SOON!
In the meantime, I have a few items that I've not shown anyone yet and a few that are in the finishing stage, so I'll be posting these new pieces, as I get them done, here first. They're Back.....

Workin on the website today with the window letting in the fresh warm air of summer when I heard it...

The first chirps of the katydids - they show up every now and then and I guess this is the year they're here. I haven't heard them in such a long time it took me a second to figure out what the rising cadence was!? Click here to listen: Katydid Chorus.

I remember when I was young, younger than 11 for sure, going on outings with our church's Path Finder Club. We traveled to the mojave desert, the lava beds in Oregon... we used to go all over!

Venturing into the hills of southern California, I remember hearing them. The katydids were in every tree and bush, singing their loud song. Brings back lots of memories, that's for sure!

What do you remember from your childhood - do you remember, the katydids or would it be catching fireflies? =D

Thank you all for the continuing support since my dear Roger's passing - these last few years have been difficult to adjust to but I'm happy to be working the wood again and bringing you new things! Been working on my furniture skills and i think ya'll might like what's in store for this year and going forward! 👍

It seems that everything is starting to calm down a bit around here - hopefully that will translate into SHOP Time!

l miss working and being out in the shop. My horse project has been stalled(no pun intended!)too long! The shop is getting warmer too! :-)

I was really hoping to get to some shows in this season but I don't know yet - Austin is in baseball this year and it's been a lot of extra travel time. So worth it tho!

Last post for the website topic: I will be sending the pre-launch email VERY soon and then - fin! I think I've enjoyed the process way too much, as I love learning! Not to mention, it's added a whole new dimension to my creative side; thinking about offering web design for woodworkers, specifically, to my available services - wood (yes, pun intended!) anyone be interested?

I thought that putting a CONCRETE date on the launch of the new website would work to keep me on track, but it seems like something always happens...
The theme I'm using came up with a MAJOR update yesterday which has set me back, AGAIN. My youngest had TWO events yesterday and, of course, one was in the Springs for most of the day... everyone, except ME, in my house has had this kind of flu or something for the last couple of weeks, and this morning I'M sitting here with a sore throat!? Ugh!
Maybe I should stop trying to SCHEDULE this "event"?!! lol
