The spear point bowie is just about done. So are two other small ones that I made last winter, but never finished.

I got into my forge for the first time today since the doctor released me from not being able to lift more than 10lbs. I could not work for more than 30 minutes. It will take some time to build up my stamina again. I am working on a spear point bowie knife. i quenched the one blade i had, then tried to straighten it, like a dummy, without tempering it first. It snapped in two, right in the middle of the blade! Can't use it. What a waste!

I'm completing two new knives, then I will have to make some more blades. I have one that needs quenching and then I am out of blades again. I want to keep working on cable damascus blades, so we will see how the winter treats me.

I am working on finishing a second cable damascus blade. I have a show this friday, but don't think it will be done by then.

There are always a lot of people who tell me they like my knives, but never buy. If I had a dollar for every person who said they would come back, I would be rich. They just never do what they say they will do.

Well the show is over. It was better than last year. I did not sell a "big" knife, just 2 small novelty knives, but it was a good day.

I am going to a show in Emporia, KS next weekend. It is a combination flee market and arts and crafts show. I have 3 new knives to show. Hopefully it will be a success. That leaves 4 unfinished.

This year I have not been nearly as productive as last year, only completing two knives, but I was laid up from surgery most of the summer and unable to complete the 7 blades I had forged earlier in the year.

So far I have been able to complete two of the seven knives.

So far I have 7 blades ready for handles! One is complete and another one is almost complete. The work so far is indoors.
