Before the rain…thanks so much to VIRTU Art Festival in Westerly, RI. I had such a blast!

Finished product: this lamp and lampshade was a family heirloom but the silk had shattered and it was yellow and stained. I redid it using chiffon pleating and handmade ruffles at the top and bespoke gold braid at the bottom.

Beautiful mid-century lamp with original shade. Shade redone using paper and silk velvet. Lamp and shade sold together. Local pick-up only bc it would be too expensive to ship.

This was a commission by a fellow artist and I’m so proud to have used an orange silk fabric that my mom gave me, which was brought from Vietnam by my grandfather in the early 70s. It turned out beautifully with a burnout velvet over the orange silk and a green silk to tie it all together.
