Hey if you got water in the basement and you have a piano upstairs you might want to keep an eye on the moisture content in the pin block. Depending on your home’s HVAC (or lack thereof) your piano might get a big change in the ambient humidity which can make the tuning unstable. Message me with questions. Got a pleasant surprise today, normally I don’t talk about my clients. (the sacred Piano tech client confidentiality is unshakable) But I’ll let this slip. Turns out I’ve been tuning for the pianist of Superman’s favorite band, THE Mighty Crabjoys. That’s pretty cool I think. Maybe I can get him to introduce me to Green Lantern.

I sample each note on your piano and create a custom tuning curve that gets any piano sounding sweeter. It doesn’t matter the make model or age if it’s got strings I can tune it. Hey, let’s have a quick talk about hantavirus… I became aware of hantavirus around 15 years ago. I will usually vacuum out the interior of an upright before I do anything else, hantavirus is one of the reasons I do that. Mice love pianos and they can set up a thriving little community inside. While it’s possible to contract hantavirus from your piano, it’s not very likely. It’s a bigger issue in the southwestern states. No matter, I will clean the interior of your piano and advise you about a deep cleaning underneath the keys (I do charge extra for that because I have to take a lot of stuff apart) If you are worried about or have a rodent infestation in your piano, give me a shout. I’ll take the proper steps to remove the ‘special presents’ a rodent leaves behind. Even if they aren’t carrying disease they’re gross…
