: What is the Artisan Depot Gallery & Gift Shop? What is the mission of the Franklin County Arts Guild? Our Mission Statment: The Franklin County Arts Guild (FCAG) is an organization of local artists and supportive members interested in

promoting fine arts and crafts in Franklin County and the surrounding area in Tennessee. The primary focus is on advancing and providing arts education and awareness for the youth and the general public, and is also actively seeking venus for local artists to exhibit, showcase and sell their work. What shows and art programs do you offer? Artisan Depot is the primary connection of FCAG to the community we serve by providing the following services and programs. Services:

Designated Student Gallery aimed at K-12 students and supporting art teachers through shows. Also supporting other youth groups such as Art Inside and Healing Arts Programs Ink (HAPI)
Six themed fee-free community art shows open to all artists of any age, experience, or media. We've had artists as young as 7 and more mature artists in their 90s. You can visit our website for the 2023/2024 Community Shows list. Regular Member and Guest Shows featuring established artists. Provide low-cost space for juried artists to display and sell their work. We have a Meet & Greet Reception every third Friday of the month between 5:00-7:00pm (unless otherwise stated) for each new Member's Show or Community Show. Everyone is welcome, free of charge. Refreshments provided. We also support our community by funding an Art Scholarship fund for higher education. FGAC supports this through a yearly silent auction. Programs:

Workshops- We offer a variety of teaching workshops by talented and experienced artists. The participant learns a technique and produces a product. Art Wednesday - is a program open to all free of charge. Every Wednesday morning from 10:00 - 12:00. It offers a space to work on any project of your own (or no project at all) and interact with other artists (even if you think you are not an artist, just a person that makes things) and maybe go to lunch or other fun outings to other places of interest. (Lunch is afterward at different locations in the area. Lunch is not provided)
Art Garden: We maintain a reclaimed space and an Open Air Art Gallery. It is planted to attract and support pollinators and contains a wall-sized garden mural and art sculptures that have practical as well as artistic value. The garden has recently been certified as a Monarch Waystation. We are looking for ideas/events to help connect our community to that space. Why should people visit the Gallery? To be amazed at what local artists produce and make available to our community and beyond! To meet some of the talented and inspiring artists. And to support our local artists and the community through the variety of events and functions, we offer. We are a fun and supportive group of people that want to share our love for the Arts in our community and make available our creative work to the public. "Just Walking in the Rain"
Do you remember that song?
I saw a picture of a lady walking in the rain, and I felt it would be perfect on the back of this jacket a friend gifted me.

The crocheted sleeves were a late idea. But I had leftover yarn that needed to be used. I wasn't sure how they would fit into the jacket, but they added a great touch, even though it almost didn't happen.

I was sewing them in when I sewed my finger while trying to get this done on time for this show. OOCH! That hurt! A fiber artist's life does not come without hazards.

Jacket by Pat Richards. Want to see more of her creations? Visit Artisan Depot Gallery.
