My husband, Mike, and I decided to start Eight Gates because we’d run out of room at our farmhouse. I’d lit
erally filled every storage building and barn on our property! The idea for the name of the shop came from all of the gates (eight of them!) on our farm. In addition to antiques, I’ve always loved salvage stuff. I have a discarded airplane on my barn roof and a copper church steeple in my back yard if that tells you anything! Because of my salvage obsession, guess what? We are out of room again so we’ve recently expanded Eight Gates with the addition of a garden/salvage center to bring our customers more great salvage finds, garden furniture and items, plants and more.
