250 YEARS AGO TODAY.

On September 9, 1776, the Continental Congress formally adopted “United States of America” in place of “United Colonies” in its proceedings.

It was another defining moment in the transformation of thirteen colonies into a new nation.

250 years later, Rhode Island remembers.

This Saturday, the Gaspee Days Committee invites the community to Pawtuxet Park for Becoming the United States – A Patriotic Concert — a FREE afternoon bringing together history, music and community.

🎶 West Bay Chorale
🇺🇸 Pawtuxet Rangers
🎺 Rhode Island Wind Ensemble
🎹 Benjamin Nacar

The afternoon will include live music, living history, Benjamin Nacar's Rhode Island Independence March, and an all-American community sing-along.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
🕒 3:00–6:00 PM
📍 Pawtuxet Park, Warwick
