The boss is back from Oregon! I had a great time for 5 days discovering new, colorful and exciting things coming to ProGreen next year, or maybe even yet this fall. The tours of this 2+ square mile nursery were unbelievable. Even though it was my second time there, I was still fascinated by the millions of perennials, trees and shrubs. I had the opportunity to meet with and talk to plant breeders from around the world, hear numerous speakers from all over, and Monrovia Nursery treated everyone like royalty with meals, drinks and gifts. It was also nice to be able to spend a little time with my former assistant manager at ProGreen, Steve Cloncs who is now a sales representative at Monrovia. And a special thanks to Sarah and Keifer for handling things in a stellar manner while I was gone. I took over 300 pictures, but only posting a few here. I will be showing you more of the great things on the way this fall and next spring soon.

THE 'BOSS IS AWAY' sale. The boss will be in Oregon this week, and has left instructions for selling all remaining bagged mulches at 4 bags for $10. Also, don't forget that house plants, cactus and succulents are on sale for 36% off, or buy 3 or more and get 42% off. Boss man will be in Oregon ordering loads of plants for next spring, so we need to make room!

INDOOR PLANT AND SUCCULENT SALE! For the next 7 days all indoor and succulent plants are 36% OFF regular price. They're all fine and beautiful plants, but we are just making room for winter already. Hundreds from which to choose!

We just took in a load of perennials bursting with color for fall. Probably our last load of the year, so now is the time to color up that garden and landscape. Selections include echinacea, salvia, agastache (becoming one of my favorites) and more.

We have also received 8 of the highly popular FLAME THROWER REDBUDS, which have been hard to get this summer. These will go quickly, so get yours before the customer just before you does!

THE NATIVES ARE HERE! And ready! A couple of weeks ago we received a shipment of over 1000 fresh native perennials. They have been up potted and 90% are ready for sale. There are presently 38 varieties and more on the way. We are still in the sign making process, but these are ready to go to your gardens.

In addition, we now have collections of natives available. There's a pollinator, a deer resistant, shade, and a hummingbird collection available. Each consists of 8 different plants and are available in full trays for a discounted price from that if purchased separately.

Also, we are now a member of the Indiana Native Plant Society and are looking forward to working with them to promote native planting.

Specials this week are Rudbeckia (Black-eyed Susan) and Allium (Ornamental Onion). Each are looking great and they are nice and full, ready for your garden. They were 19.85 and 18.85 respectively and now on sale for only $10 until July 31, or until sold out.

All packaged garden seed on clearance sale at 50% off. Nice time to stock up for spring or to plant yet this summer for those cool crops before I send all this back to the vendors.

One of the joys of being in this business is discovering new varieties of plants. Take a look at these two varieties of Hypericum (St. John's Wort). Here are Floralberry Rose and Sunburst now available at ProGreen. Each grows to around 3-4 feet, and the Floralberry Rose (with the pink and yellow) is a rebloomer if you trim early to mid-summer. Get one soon to enjoy!

The first picking of sweet corn is here just in time for your holiday cookout! We are open today until 1:00 and tomorrow, Sunday from 10-3, Weekdays 8-5:30.
