It's officially August so it's time to make that announcement again...our Anniversary Sale is almost here! 🎉

As we've done in years past, 2026 is no different. The entire store (yep, everything) is 20% off! It will run from Wednesday, August 12th until Sunday, August 16th during our normal operating hours. 📅

If you've been on the fence about visiting, this is a great opportunity. Come on in and take your time strolling the aisles - Romance, Children's Books, Westerns, Biographies, US History, comics, magazines...books on Art, Gardening, Math, Religion, Cooking... there are many more categories to browse. This is the tip of the iceberg. 📚

For the amount of money you spend on a date to the movies, or taking the kids to the arcade, or any number of outings - an afternoon looking through more books than you'll know what to do with is not only a beautiful chance to spend some quality time with your friends or family, but your dollar will stretch a lot farther and the screen time is minimal (or nonexistent)!

You can always get a head start on holiday shopping. 🎁Or stocking up on books for the cozier weather. 🍂🍁 Fill your beach bag for the rest of the season. 🏖 Panic-read your summer book report assignments (or at least the Cliff Notes). 🎒Or just spoiling yourself rotten, no special occasion needed. 💖

Whatever your reason, it will be lovely to see you! We always look forward to seeing our perennial patrons as well as meeting new faces. 😊

Immediately after the sale, the store will be closed from Monday, August 17th through Tuesday, August 25th. The store will reopen on Wednesday, August 26th. Time for some R&R! 🛋😌

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

My, how we’ve grown. 🥹 It seems like only last week we were dumping $1.7 million dollars worth of tea into the Boston Harbor. 🫖 ☕️
Now we’re celebrating 250 years of independence! 🎆

We are open from 9-3 today. Might be a fun time to enjoy an air conditioned walk through our American History section, especially Revolutionary History!

Enjoy your celebrations and, as always, please be safe. A reminder that no one has ever been given a breathalyzer test or lost a finger while reading, if you need an alternative way to celebrate. 📕
