Loss can be absolutely nonsensical and awful. And I don’t think it’s always helpful to try to find meaning in it. But, there’s something powerful in grief, something that can break you open if you let it and bring you into a greater awareness of your capacity to love and be loved in this life.

It took me a long time and multiple therapists to figure out how to begin to metabolize the grief of losing eight babies in eight years. Yesterday, I spoke with a friend about how he was going through something similar after losing his wife. Ultimately, it was finding a way to connect with where the grief lives in his body that allowed him to feel heard and seen about all of it. I thought about that yesterday as I walked in the woods with Josef.
