This is too good not to share, but there was some hesitation because "Casper" might not need the extra attention, especially from predators. She/he (leaning toward she) is very quick and elusive, which could serve her well. She's been seen around Lake O' the Pines since at least July, so let's all hope she continues to evade danger while sticking out like a sore thumb! Lake O' the Pines is at 227.90, while Caddo is at 169.54.

The oldest county in Texas was once a place for some of the legendary blues greats to “pay their dues and moan the blues” on the sidewalks, and in the long forgotten juke joints along historic Camp Street in Crockett, Texas.

The blues icons depicted in the mural are Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Frankie Lee Simms, “Blind” Lemon Jefferson, Sam “Lightnin’” Hopkins, “Texas” Johnny Brown, Aaron Thibeaux “T-Bone” Walker and Willie Mae “Big Mama” Thornton.

Who can argue that it's not a beautiful world when you might see pink birds in the sky? If you look for adventure, you can find it every day in East Texas, and if you're fortunate, you might see a Roseate Spoonbill. Lake O' the Pines is at a level of 230.73, and Caddo is at 169.05 as summertime evaporation is setting in.
