Reminder! If you're still on the fence about joining Victual's tour of Northern Italy (September 25 through Oct 7, 2026) or, if you've already signed up, Brad Doshan of Euro Elite Tours will be joining us on our side patio tomorrow, Friday August 7th at 6:30 to discuss the itinerary and answer questions.

Also joining us will be Julie Bollig, representing The Wine Company, to talk about three of the vendor tours we'll be taking in Italy.

We'll have some tastings, too -- Crucolo cheese, Vieitti wines, Bordiga Vermouth Excelsior, and Sirene Amaro.

Paul and I are super excited about this meet & greet and we're even more excited about the tour itself! Yahoo!

Our sticker displays are once again full, thanks to our friend Biff who owns Nice Enough. Did you know it's a local company? I continue to be impressed with Biff's designs and artwork, and continue to be impressed with how many of his dang stickers we sell. Tinker, pictured here, is a nonsensical sticker but one of our top sellers.

These stickers are essentially indestructible, even if you stick them outside on a window or car. Most end up on water bottles, laptops and tablets.

Did you see that COMPLICATED PEACH was in the Rave Creamworks ice cream dipping cabinet this past weekend? Did you get some? It's such a hit that I just bought ingredients to make more this week.

Complicated Peach was a new flavor last year that capitalized on the success of Complicated Strawberry. Like it's predecessor, it's made with real fruit, goat cheese, balsamic reduction and black pepper but instead of strawberries, we use peaches.

Grab it while you can because this flavor won't be around forever....

Like all of our flavors, this one is full dairy that's lactose free/friendly, made on-site with all natural ingredients and colors.

There are so many great flavors right now, it's like an embarrassment of riches -- how can one choose?

Cocktails for the weekend (AKA how to shop the state's smallest liquor store): This weekend, we're sipping one of our most successful previously-featured cocktails, the Alpine Slope -- it's a perfect cocktail for hot, summery temperatures.

The other Paul and I first encountered the Alpine Slope in the most magical historic art deco cocktail lounge associated with a hotel (also historic) in downtown Denver, CO. This drink was likely concocted by one of their own bartenders and it's perfect in every way -- spirit-forward, balanced, complex, and it leaves you wanting a second.

The cocktail is greater than the sum of its parts. The base spirit is Aquavit (quite unusual) and it's modified by Braulio Amaro, hailing from the Dolomite region of Northern Italy and characterized by a mentholated flavor note. Could you use another Amaro? Yes, but the Braulio plays so nicely with the Linie Aquavit.

2 oz Linie Aquavit
1 oz Braulio Amaro
0.75 oz Liber and Co Gum Syrup
0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Garnish: sprig of fresh mint

In a cocktail shaker over ice, add all ingredients except garnish and shake until chilled. Strain into rocks glass over fresh crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint from the garden.

My view of heaven includes an unlimited supply of Cheezies. While on earth, I pick up my 210g bags of Cheezies at Victual, the only spot south of the Canadian border where you can get them.

Extra crunchy, extra salty, extra cheesy, pretty much perfect.

Back in stock! We've just unpacked a large shipment of Snackleboxes and Build-a-Boards.

Over the past two years, these have been incredible items in our assortment -- perfect for summertime picnics, potlucks, afternoons on the pontoon, or apps & dinner on the deck. They're also the perfect gift, too, for any occasion!

On the snacklebox, the bamboo lid serves also as a cutting board, as do the bamboo bottom trays on the build-a-boards. Ingenious, really.

You'll find them on display in the middle of the original eastern side of the store.

Oh. My. Goodness. Yep, we're switching our slogan and hashtag from to (at least for today).

Runamok, an organic maple syrup producer from Vermont (famous for their naturally-flavored syrups) has just released a Limited Edition Blueberry Lemon Maple Syrup that is downright spectacular.

Upon opening our first delivery, I snagged a bottle to bring home ... and both Paul and I were blown away. We tend to like hearty pancakes like buckwheat or multigrain (like the mix available from Sunrise Flour Mill) and this syrup is perfect. It's heavily loaded with real blueberry, with just a subtle hint of lemon, to give it a hint of brightness and to tamp down the sweetness.

But don't just use this on your morning pancakes; let your imagination run wild. Use as a syrup in cocktails, drizzle it over our housemade Double Double Vanilla Vanilla ice cream, top yogurt and granola, or add atop of crisps, buckles and bettys (after all, fresh fruits are coming in locally).

You'll find a huge selection of Runamok syrups towards the back of our western expansion, along with the most comprehensive selection of gourmet foods in the region.

We've stocked up fairly heavily to anticipate demand but in reality, limited editions mean product will eventually run out without restock available. This is one you don't want to miss out on!

Hot days call for cool ice cream. My recommendation? SUMMERTIME, now available at the Rave Creamworks ice cream dipping cabinet.

It's all of the flavors of summer together in one refreshing bite -- think melon, mint and cucumber. It might sound odd (or as Minnesotans might say "that's different") but trust me, this flavor is delicious and it's super creamy -- perfect for hot days.

Like all of our flavors, this one is full dairy that's lactose free, made on-site using all natural ingredients and colors.

We're open 10-9 today, giving you tons of opportunity to grab a scoop or two or three.

For a number of years, the best selling cheese in our case was Deer Creek's The Night Walker -- a Wisconsin cheddar, aged for about a year and a half, and then soaked in a five-year bourbon. It was reliably spectacular -- the bourbon adding a bit of sweetness and a hint of vanilla to the flavor -- the perfect bite with the perfect texture.

Towards the end of last year, it became unavailable when Deer Creek began to make plans for a new soaking facility. The equipment was apparently custom-made in France, shipped to Wisconsin, assembled, and approved for use after rigorous testing, all of which took much longer than anticipated.

The lack of this glorious cheese for almost eight months left a gaping hole in our selection because there was nothing else similar to it in the marketplace to use as a substitute.

Now for the good news ... it's *finally* back in stock in its rightful place in our cheese case. In the few days we've had it back in stock, I can tell that it's quickly going to climb its way back to the top of our sales chart.

For those of you who are curious, the other cheeses at the top of our sales history are French triple creme and a smoked gouda from Wisconsin. I love how high brow and simple both have a space at the top!
