Introducing an all-new line of serving pieces that are absolutely stunning! The line is called Le Blanc and it comes from Pampa Bay -- a new vendor for our store.

They come in rippled organic shapes -- a fresh design that's just as appropriate in "up north" cabins as they are in your city homes.

Made of high-fired porcelain, they're lightweight but durable, and they're freezer safe, microwave safe, dishwasher safe and oven safe up to 500⁰F.

I'm so excited to add these to our collection! What sold me on the line was their options for charcuterie platters -- condiment bowls, platters ... even cracker trays!

You'll find our full assortment towards the back of our western expansion, near our collection of packaged gourmet foods.

New cheese alert ... and it's stunning!

Straight from Wisconsin, Chris Roelli has developed the most amazing cheddar -- Haus Select -- encompassing flavor, texture and appearance.

While I personally enjoy cheddar, it's not one of my "go-to" cheeses ... but this is a game changer for me.

As cheddars age, they tend to get more "sharp" for flavor; they tend to be quite acidic with a bite. Haus Select, by contrast, is very flavorful but without the sharp bite. It's distinctly cheddary, with nuttiness, fruitiness, and a hint of sweetness. It's delicious!

Oh, and the amazing color? Deep, rich orange, colored with annatto extract, derived from the seeds of a South American tree that is flavorless and odorless -- just pure beauty.

I'm completely impressed with sales our first week with this cheese, without any social media introduction until now; everyone who samples it walks out with a wedge.

Did I mention that it's gorgeous??? 😍

You know that *insanely good* French butter with sea salt crystals? Have you noticed that it doesn't fit your butter dish? Yep, me too.

Solution: British maker Mason Cash's ceramic butter dish fits perfectly!

Bonus points: it's super cute, embossed with flowers from the meadow. It's designed with a lip on the bottom plate to hold your butter in place, even if it's hard straight from the fridge. Dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe, too!

We just got a small shipment of butter dishes but they won't last long (more are in transit). In fact, we've just restocked our full lineup of Mason Cash's super-popular In the Meadow collection and a few pieces from their In the Forest collection, too.

You'll find them in the center of the store one tier below our fall/Halloween decor.

Have you tried our SPICE TRADER ice cream? It's now available at the Rave Creamworks ice cream dipping cabinet.

This flavor is perfect as we transition into fall -- it's all of the spices that go into chai tea but without the black tea itself.

Notes of cinnamon, allspice, cardamom, nutmeg, ginger, anise and clove wash over the tongue in waves -- mellow, authentic, autumnal.

We use whole spices to make this ice cream rather than "flavors" of uncertain origin. It's how we make all of our ice creams -- using natural ingredients and colors, adding to a base mix that's full dairy cream and milk treated with natural enzymes to make it lactose free. It's honestly the best ice cream ever.

Sorry not sorry part 3 ... did we take it too far this time???

Introducing a new cheese to all of you -- it's Beemster's Pumpkin Spice Gouda. Yes, indeed. I heard about it last year for the first time but held off on ordering it. But this year I succumbed and we took possession of our first wheel yesterday evening.

It's a young gouda, extra creamy for texture with whole spices to bring out the pumpkin spice flavor -- think cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cardamom and ginger.

Is it any good? Who knows, but I'm cracking open the first wheel at 11:00 am sharp this morning and freely offering samples. It has to be good ... it's been an annual release and fall favorite since 2016 (yes, we're slow on the uptake jumping in one full decade later).

Literature indicates it's savory rather than sweet (that's a good thing) and that it's equally as good in cooking as it is eaten out of hand as a part of your cheese and charcuterie boards.

Use in grilled cheese sandwiches with ham or turkey, added to squash baked in the oven, or adding fall flavors to a homemade mac & cheese, or in a autumnal fondue. Pair with seeded breads or crackers, add chutney and cranberry jams, and pour an oaky Chardonnay or Malbec, or beers and ciders. Then, double down and have seconds.

We've ordered enough to keep us in stock through the fall. If y'all gobble it up, we'll pre-order it again for next fall.

Cocktails for the weekend (AKA how to shop the state's smallest liquor store): This weekend we're drinking an all-new spritzer called the Sarti Spritz ... and it's DELICIOUS!

All across Europe in the summer of 2025, the buzziest low-alcohol cocktail was the Sarti Spritz; its popularity exploded because of a TikTok that went viral. Alas, Sarti Rosa wasn't exported to the United States so we missed out entirely last year.

Sarti Rosa finally hit the shelves in the USA in July of this year and it's been oversold since, causing scarcity and rationing by the distributor to the point where Victual was unable to get any until now. It's hard to believe that a liqueur was allocated as if it was a rare bourbon. It's my hope that the supply chain is loosening up somewhat now that summer is over.

What is Sarti? It's a new low-alcohol liqueur aperitivo that's flavored with mango, blood orange and passion fruit; it's known for its neon pink color (gorgeous!) and tropical flavors. The Campari company bought the historic Casa Sarti distillery of Bologna, Italy, in 1995 and in 2022 developed Sarti Rosa as a more fruity/less bitter alternative to Aperol, another brand under the Campari umbrella.

The Sarti Spritz follows the standard 3:2:1 ratio of other spritzers.

3 oz Il Follo Prosecco
2 oz Sarti Rosa
1 oz Fever-Tree Club Soda

In a w**e goblet over ice, add all ingredients and gently stir with a barspoon until incorporated. If desired, garnish with a orange wheel, blood orange wheel, lime wheel or even a sprig of fresh mint from the garden.

All ingredients (except garnish) are available at Victual and Victual Spirits.

Please note: we have only one case of Sarti Rosa and I predict it will sell out immediately. We've already ordered more but it's unknown when/if the order will ship. It's *that* scarce.

Sorry not sorry for the early delivery of Halloween-themed frosted sugar cookies. When they're this stinkin' cute, I just couldn't wait.

They come from O'My Goodness, a woman-owned Chicago-based cookie bakery and they're made entirely with natural, simple ingredients. And they're spectacular!

By now I think all of you know of my frosted sugar cookie addiction and this shipment enables me to indulge. Over and over again. And I couldn't be happier!

We've carried their cookies seasonally for years and this is the first year we've brought in Halloween cookies. Love love love.
