New finds! We’ve just brought in this absolutely stunning selection of Hawkes glassware into the shop, featuring delicate engraved rose designs across multiple styles of stemware, and bowls and plates.

Founded in Corning, New York in the late 1800s, Hawkes became known for some of America’s finest cut glass, celebrated for its precision craftsmanship and intricate detailing.

Iron goodies have arrived! ✨

Bells, brackets, baskets, hooks, rabbits, fairies, bird baths, garden accents, and all sorts of cast iron and metal treasures are fully stocked.

We love mixing old and new, and these newly made pieces fit right in alongside the antiques and vintage finds that Curious Belongings is known for. Thoughtfully chosen, and full of character, they are ready to add that something special to your home and outdoor living space.

Curious Belongings has always been more than just a shop at the lake. It’s been four generations of curating goods, sharing history, and welcoming customers that become like family.

What began in 1951 with Betty Ball’s Tulip Shop antique store at the Ball Family’s Birch Hill Inn Resort and Restaurant has become a cornerstone in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Though a lot has changed since our beginning, our love for what we do and the people we service continues!

As we start our 75th summer in business, we just want to say thank you. Thank you for supporting four generations and allowing us to keep going all these years later. We look forward to welcoming you back this summer.

Cardinal Update! The babies have all hatched and the parents are actively feeding their hungry little ones! If you come to the shop just be mindful of them on the porch. Our Robin has also made her yearly nest on the porch. It’s a full nursery here at Curious Belongings!
