Transom is repaired, did it myself in the heat. Found some 1/8" 2" aluminum angle at Lowes, tripled up on it, now have an even stronger transom beam than the factory, doubled up on the inner frame as well. Done for the day. Just some water deflectors to put back on, remount the engine (about 3 hours in the morning), and I am back in business. $325 in materials and hardware. I'll be back on the water Tuesday. Apologies to my Saturday afternoon and Sunday charter clients.

August 14, 2026: Warning, cuteness overdose. Busy Morning with some very enthusiastic boys (3 yr old twins and 5 yr old) who were ready to catch some fish! Only a couple of 20's caught, but 10 fish caught overall gave the youngsters a chance to reel in some fish. The bite does seem to be slowing down to late summer typical. Busy charter schedule next few days and the weather is a scorcher.

Fishing results from August 12, 2026: Had a great morning of fishing with some Minnesota natives, great crew. Around 15 fish caught, several teeners, a few 20's, and a 40lb short but fat pig. Decided to demonstrate just how big a 40lb catfish's mouth is by putting my hand up to my forearm.....and accidently demonstrated just how sharp and strong they clamp down. I think I won't do that anymore. Good current flow in the main channel, even downriver, deep minor holes, skipjack and yellow bass, slightly fast drag against strong current (0.6MPH), and stayed away from too much sonar indicated bait. It has been a great bite recently. When usually it starts to slow down it has actually been strong, thanks to rains and current. The skinny post spawn males are starting to fatten up.

Fishing Results August 6th and 8th. August usually slows down, I call them the late summer doldrums. Not this year. Recent rains has given us current, stirred the bait, and has everything active. IN other words, the catfishing is GREAT!

Pictures from Wednesday 8/6/26: Mom and Son from Southern Cal in town to play a Junior All-American Baseball tournament at UT. Son caught his first fish ever (a 40 pounder). Mom also caught several including a double-up with son. Total caught 5 hours, high teens.

Pictures from this morning 8/8/26: Couple from Vermont visiting E. TN on vacation, first fish of the morning... 40 pounder. Several other fish caught:1 30, 2 20's, several teeners. Total caught 5 hours, high teens.

Thanks to the flow, fish are finally being caught deep and downriver and are biting everything, Skipjack, Yellow and White Bass, Drum, and Crappie.

July 29, 2026 trip: Everything came together on this trip. Perfect current flow, scattered bait at mid depths, made for an awesome afternoon. 5 hour trip: 20 catfish caught, including 4 20lb+ and a 50lb+ stud.

Fishing Report 07/24/26 to 7/26/26:
Let it FLOW! We had great current flow Friday and Saturday that helped produce over 48 catfish over 3, 5 hour trips including a nice low 40's river monster for a father son team from Ohio. Sunday early morning, they shut it down, went from 28K CFS flow to 9K. Only caught 4 Sunday morning, but they were good ones: a 15, 20, 40 and a 45 (sorry client did not share pics) that were anchored up in basically slack water on a ledge. THINK RAIN FOR THE VALLEY!

Excellent morning of catfishing with a family from KC. Somewhere around 14 caught including a 25 lb. male. And..... A first ... caught (snagged) a big ole paddlefish in 45 ft of water, most bizarre catch of 2026! Those Whisker Seeker Triple Threat hooks are sharp!
