Finished reading After the Badge by Addison Crissone. (Making it my 14th new read this read.) A good conclusion to The Yellow Badge. Characters are just as kind and genuine as the previous novel. It was good to see the main cast trying to figure out what to do with their lives now that they didn't have to live in hiding.
Got to see the war from a different angle, focusing on medical efforts. Definitely recommended for anyone that wants more WWII fiction and wants to focus on the daily life of the people.

This has made the short list for worst book I've read this year and I really hate that!

Forgot to mention this some time ago, but I definitely recommend reading Across Five Aprils. It deals with being a kid living in the Civil War. The author was inspired by stories have grandfather told her. It can be a bit challenging to read due to the vernacular and dialect of the characters but worth the time. It's a good history refresher.
