We know alot of folks are growing anxious for some cool fall weather! So we thought we'd share some cool news regarding our most popular event each year!

PUMPKIN TRAINS RETURN October 3rd!

Take a fun-filled ride through the crisp rural landscape while enjoying a mix of fall colors! Trains leave the depot in North Judson and take passengers on a leisurely 45-minute, 10-mile round-trip journey to English Lake and return. At English Lake, the train crosses the beautiful Kankakee River before returning to town. Upon return, the train drops you off at our pumpkin patch where every passenger gets to choose the perfect pumpkin for carving!

NEW THIS YEAR- Norfolk and Western Business Car 300 will be joining our Pumpkin Trains offering additional first class seating. First class seating aboard Monon Business Car #2 was completely sold out last year, so we are excited to partner with the Norfolk and Western Business Car 300 Preservation Society Inc. to offer additional seating. Passengers aboard the 300 will also be treated to complimentary refreshments served onboard during the trip.

Great evening for some train fun! 🚂

Clear your schedule tomorrow evening and come out to Gabis Arboretum to see the trains running from 6 pm to 8 pm ⏰ in the railway garden .

We are going to be running the trains in the evening the first Wednesday of July, August, and September from 6 pm - 8 pm this year 🎉.

With the sun low in the sky 🌅, it's the perfect time to take photography 📸 in the railway garden during the golden hour 🌞.

The Big Boy is coming back! 🚂

📣Attention Railfans! Union Pacific’s Big Boy will be making a return trip back west in just over 2 weeks! Don't worry if you missed it the last time, you will have one more shot to see it! It will enter Indiana on the 15th before stopping in New Haven Indiana for the night (No public viewing) before departing Fort Wayne on the 16th. It is expected to depart Fort Wayne at 9:00am EDT. Big-Boy will have one whistle stop in Indiana on its return trip. This will occur in Knox Indiana from 12:30 to 1:00pm EDT. Big-boy will stop at 10 S. Heaton Street for 30 minutes.

For those wondering, it will travel the same tracks as last time as it heads back west on its America's 250 US tour! This is the worlds largest operational steam locomotive left in operation!
