Black Pearl vs Black Velvet
Black pearl, the fresh that day kit is recessive (meaning both parents have to carry the gene) and born with the dark veiling.
Black velvet, the one week old kit, is a dominant mutation (meaning 1 parent must be a black velvet ) has veiling that will het darket as he grows. Both will be Black with white bellies when they are fully grown. The back pearl will go straight from Black to white, the black velvet the veiling will go to grey briefly before the white giving them a stunning look.

See this adorable sweet "mosaic" face? Well, he isn't a mosaic, he is a fading white. These guys are born as standard grey or violet and fade. It's a fairly rare mutation and we have happily increased the lines this year and will be working with them more!
