"S" is for Spider Plant
Spider plants or Chlorophytum Comosum is a popular houseplant known for its arching green and white striped leaves and baby spiderettes. Spider plants are native to the Southern regions of Africa. They are members of the asparagus family. Before they were known as spider plants, people called them airplane plants because the spiderettes resemble airplane propellers. Even if you forget to water your spider plant, it will just sip on the water it stores in its rhizomes until you remember to water it.

"R" is for Rattlesnake Plant
The latin name for Rattlesnake plant is a mouthful; Goeppertia Insignis. This stunning houseplant has lanced shaped foliage with dark green and olive hues. It is native to Brazil. It used to be classified in the Calathea family but has recently been moved to the prayer plant family. It loves high humidity so the kitchen or bathroom is a good location. A large healthy rattlesnake plant can actually be heard making a rustling sound when it is pumping up its leaves for the night to capture carbon dioxide.

"Q" is for Queen of the Night
The Ephiphyllum Oypetalum is a tropical spineless cactus known for producing large, fragrant white flowers that bloom for one night and then wilt. It is native to Mexico and Central America and grows on trees and rocks in the rainforest instead of in the desert. Seperated potted plants within close proximity to each other can somehow sync their blooming time which is only once a year. Botanical gardens and private collectors often host midnight watch parties so that people can witness this rare bloom
