Friday, Oct 9 is also Night Lights, which starts Culpeper Air Fest weekend, so it's going to be a big night around town. Play hard, play safe, and we'll be cheering for both. The closest real hiking most people in Culpeper actually do is about 20 miles out, up the Sperryville Pike, at Old Rag. It's not a walk. It's a real scramble over rock near the summit, and it draws people from all over, not just here. But when somebody from Culpeper says they're going hiking this weekend, there's a good chance that's where they mean.
