Some have suggested & asked why I don’t just print with the base of the dome touching the build plate with little to no supports. I am aware of this and did this with my Ender 5+, however my Bambu has a smaller build volume, which is why I tilt it, but it’s 100xs more reliable and consistent with an acceptable or better standard of print quality that the Ender couldn’t match (not without spending more $ for Klipper).
So, until or another fast, reliable core xy printer comes out with a build volume to do 1pc helmets, I’m happy to sacrifice build volume & do@a bit more sanding & filling for much faster speeds, way more reliability, and much less stress — totally worth it!
I still have my Ender 5+, but it’s up for sale if anyone wants it and wants a bigger build volume…message me if interested (local Los Angeles only)
