🎨 Member Spotlight: Mark B. Bailey
🎨"I was six years old when I asked my mom to buy me some oil paints at the local Five & Dime... I worked on my first oil painting under the kitchen table." Meet co-op member Mark B. Bailey! Raised in the head of a hollow in Eastern Kentucky, Mark discovered his roaring passion for oil painting at a very young age. But as life often demands, he put his brushes down to get married, work for thirty years, and provide for his beautiful family. Now officially retired, Mark finally has the ultimate freedom to pursue his lifelong creative passion full-time—and we are so incredibly lucky to have his canvas work gracing our walls! Mark’s rich, detailed oil paintings carry the authentic soul and patience of a life beautifully lived. Stop by the gallery this week to view his breathtaking collection in person!

🌾 Honor Our Roots: Meet the Appalachian Heritage Reenactors! 🪓
At the heart of the Harvest Moon Festival is a deep pride in where we come from. This year, we are incredibly fortunate to welcome a dedicated group of living history reenactors and traditional demonstrators to Downtown Cumberland Gap!
Step back in time on September 26 and experience the rich history, resilience, and traditions of our Appalachian ancestors. Watch history come alive through authentic clothing, stories, and heritage demonstrations that show how early settlers lived and thrived in these beautiful mountains.
It’s an educational, inspiring experience for the kids and a wonderful trip down memory lane for the young at heart.
Come for the heritage, stay for the regional w**e tastings by Nine Lakes W**eries, live Americana music, local food trucks, and beautiful crafts from artists within our 50-mile radius! 🍁✨

I am Susan Grana. My friends call me dove. I presently live in New Tazewell, TN with my husband, Marty. Before retiring, I indulged my love for animals by working as a vet tech. This passion for animals has carried over into my crocheted creations of all kinds of animals and mythical creatures. I, also, crochet hats, scarves, shawls, and bags. I taught myself to crochet in the early 1980s and became a part of the Cumberland Gap Artist Coop at its beginning in 2015. Come by and see the menagerie of stuffed animals that I have created. You might just fall in love with one.
