Y’all were getting into the spooky spirit. We’re teaming up with One More Chapter Book Club to host a Halloween Coloring Contest. The best part, everyone from ages 3 and up can participate (Yes that includes adults too!).

Wanna join?

- Grab a coloring sheet here at the shop, or any of the county libraries! (Harlan, Cumberland or Evarts)

- Color in your spooky work of art.

- Return it to any of the participating locations.

⭐️ The contest will run from October 12th to October 23rd.

⭐️ Winners in each age category will be announced on October 26th!

Note: Each entry has to include your name, age, phone number, and favorite book genre on the back of the page.

It’s a lovely Wednesday out today, and we have a few new things to share with y’all!

We don’t have Kindle covers / cases (yet), but we do have some weird and wonderful handmade inserts for 6” and 7” Kindle cases. All $1.50 or less.

We also have some very pretty copies of Wicked by Gregory Maguire. You know, like the movie?

We’ll be in until 6:00 p.m. this evening, or until we remember to close. So swing by if you’re out and about.

Guys, it’s a lovely, crispy morning and it’s the official start of one of the best months of the year!

We’ve got tons of spooky goodness including lots of new horror books, posters, and stationary.

So if you’re feeling the seasonal spirit come check it out! We will be open until 6:00 pm this evening, or later depending on how much we lose track of time.

Y’all it is a dreary Wednesday out, and it’s been far too long since we’ve posted.

Life has been a bit hectic, as it tends to get sometimes, but maybe new books will make it better!

We’ve gotten a ton of new things in, and these are just the tip of the iceberg. Romantasy, Sci-fi, Dark Romance, along with restocks on popular stickers and bookmarks.

We’re also working through a slew of used books that will be tossed directly on the shelves. Not to mention a huge haul of new horror books for you Spooky Season enthusiasts.

So, hold fast as we process them as quickly as possible, and if you want to come poke around, we will be open until 6:00 pm this evening!

Guys! It's been a crazy few days, but we just wanted to give you an overdue update on this dreary Friday morning.

First, we've updated our shop hours to adjust for Fall and Winter. (And will likely be sticking with these for a good long while)

Next, we've been adding in some new inventory, ordering books, and moving a few things around to make more popular sections bigger.

We will also be posting soon about the Book Swap and Paper Making Demonstration we will be doing for the Swappin' Meetin'!

So "bear" with us. (Sorry for the terrible pun) as we adjust to this whirlwind of activity!

Okay guys, Eggatha Christie has spoken, and our Possum Fest / 1-Year Giveaway winner is:

Y’all we are in the midsts of Possum Fest madness!

We are absolutely tickled to see all the people who have come from near and far, even though the weather has been a roller coaster.

We will be open until 8:00 pm this evening, maybe later depending on the crowd and the weather.

Can’t make it to the fest? We will also be unusually open tomorrow! (Sunday 11:00am - 6:00pm)

Guys! Tomorrow is the big day! ‘Possum Fest!

We still can’t believe we’ve been open for a year already. So, to add to the celebration, we’re doing a giveaway.

A basket full of Bizarre Bookish goodness.

A $15 gift certificate, handmade items from in house vendors, coffee cup, bookmarks galore, “Do It For The Plot” tote, and on and on.

So, as you enjoy the festival, drop by, fill out a ticket, drop it inside Eggatha Christie (The Chicken) and we will be drawing one lucky winner on Sunday after closing.
