V ä v a! V e v e v ä v a! ve v e! is a premier weaving studio specializing in high quality, eco-friendly, luxuriously beautiful, handwoven linen textiles for the home.

Our page is available for you to explore our activities as weavers and as people experiencing life. Because weaving is a VERY slow process, there may be time between features of weaving, since we most often warp 30-40 yards at one time, and we feel that loom shots of weaving can only show so much. So we often wait until our weaving run is complete and off the loom before photographing our

work. Something we have been working toward this past year and a half is the establishment of a weaving mill for regional support of fiber growers and sheep farmers. This is a long and arduous process, involving applications for grants and other funding. Lots of ups and downs, but a strong, steady attitude that this is not only a calling, but a necessary and important part of renewing local economy, helping to bring the textile industry not only back to the United States, and thereby providing much needed jobs here while lowering the carbon footprint by keeping worldwide shipping of textiles to a minimum, but also to establish a smaller more regional approach to much of what we consume! We are all stewards of our earth, and it is our responsibility to do what we can to make it a better, healthier place to live.

Right after Thanksgiving and coming up FAST!! Make sure you eat a little less this year so you can roll off your sofa and get yourself to CAFE WREN for their annual Holiday Art Sale!! Against severe odds and maximum talent I managed to get juried in and will be included in this show!! (No really!! Cafe Wren curates with a premier artistic eye! I have shared this video before and each time I view it my mind comprehends something new that is important! Handwork can have significant impact on each of us at all ages! In working with our hands we start out with a deliberate intention to create something. Along the way we are able to find new facets of ourselves while contributing to our knowledge-base of concepts. While this very basic learning is going on we are experiencing wonderful intense tactile sensations while also indulging our other senses. Although working with our hands seems one of the very basic things we can do, it is actually quite complex with broad positive influence on our own body systems, and impacting on those around us as well. If Winston Churchill had been a 'maker' rather than a statesman, he might have said, "Hand work is discovery, wrapped in fulfillment, inside delight!!
