We will be open only by appointment until May 21st. Our openings for commissioned work are full and in order to best serve those patrons and make some exciting changes in the store we will be open upon request until May 21st. This will also give us a chance to finish new artwork!

The Process-
Jeff created the three large paintings in the studio on a synthetic canvas. Once they were finished, he rolled them up and shipped them to Florida. The night we arrived, we unrolled them on the floor and checked all of the other supplies we had sent down, everything was in order.
The next day, we cut sheets of Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) into arched shapes and glued the paintings onto them with construction adhesive. Then we built frames from polyethylene boards and secured them in place. After that, we mounted the pieces to the wall using more than 90 concrete screws, each one countersunk, filled, and sanded.
Final touches were made to the paintings, the frames were painted, and the edges were caulked. Mark added lighting. Jean set a beautiful table with hors d’oeuvres, and we enjoyed a wonderful reception. For a week each day we worked, and each night we enjoyed Mark and Jean’s warm hospitality.

If you’ve stopped by the Dancing Bird recently, you may have noticed the three large paintings Jeff is working on. Together, they form a panoramic scene of Lake Como, north of Milan, Italy. The pieces will be installed in Florida later this month. (Photos to follow.)

We will be closed from January 28 through February 4 while we are in Florida. After that, for most of the winter, we will be open by appointment only. This will allow us to be available as needed and give Jeff time to focus on instrument repairs, framing, commissions and his own work
