The Process-
Jeff created the three large paintings in the studio on a synthetic canvas. Once they were finished, he rolled them up and shipped them to Florida. The night we arrived, we unrolled them on the floor and checked all of the other supplies we had sent down, everything was in order.
The next day, we cut sheets of Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) into arched shapes and glued the paintings onto them with construction adhesive. Then we built frames from polyethylene boards and secured them in place. After that, we mounted the pieces to the wall using more than 90 concrete screws, each one countersunk, filled, and sanded.
Final touches were made to the paintings, the frames were painted, and the edges were caulked. Mark added lighting. Jean set a beautiful table with hors d’oeuvres, and we enjoyed a wonderful reception. For a week each day we worked, and each night we enjoyed Mark and Jean’s warm hospitality.

As promised, here are photos from our finished mural project in Florida. This was truly a collaborative project with homeowners Mark and Jean. The mural is based on a photo they took of a scene at Lake Como in Italy and is installed at their home.
